trash or DIY vintage?

I have a recent obsession with using items that would ordinarily be recycled or thrown in the trash (which is where I found most of them). old wood boxes, and aluminum cans are my current favorites. having an amazing girlfriend that doubles as a muse and a floral and décor designer doesn’t hurt either. so, over the last month or so I have been saving every metal can I open.  once you peel the paper off those things there are many fun things you can use them for. my little brother is getting married in September and since, like most people, they are on a very tight budget we have been brainstorming on ways to cut costs.  so, all these aluminum cans are now votive holders. once you dress them up they are pretty cute.  using ribbons, craft paper, moss, herbs, and any other decorative things they become unique, vintage candle holders.

Such awesome ideas - I love the jars and cans wrapped in moss and raffia. Natural, organic and eco-chic! What's not to love?! ;)
